RETAIL SALES & CREATIVE MARKETING
Location: The Lair, Newcastle NSW
Role Type: Part-time (Sat, Sun, Mon - TBC)
Commencing: August 2025
THE ROLE
We are seeking a confident, motivated and design-conscious individual to lead the floor and our digital space across our most dynamic trading days: Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.
Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in retail and marketing/ content creation.
We’re looking for someone with a genuine passion for fashion, art and design who connects with customers through styling, storytelling, and a thoughtful sales approach. The ideal candidate brings a quiet presence of space, attention and understands how to read a room and guide the experience.
The role requires strong digital fluency, creativity and visual astuteness, with an understanding of how to represent a brand both in-store and online. As the weekend face of The Lair, you’ll take ownership of retail sales, visual merchandising, content creation, and customer engagement - delivering an experience that’s intelligent, compelling, and unmistakably The Lair.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. SALES-DRIVEN RETAIL
> Own the floor (and digital floor) across key trading days - spark conversation, build genuine relationships, and drive conversion.
> Meet and exceed individual and store sales targets.
> Maintain strong product knowledge across apparel, leather goods, jewellery, and our brand portfolio.
2. MARKETING & DIGITAL TOUCHPOINTS
> Capture and curate real-time content in-store - including new arrivals, BTS moments, styling stories, and studio production.
> Create, schedule and publish impactful imagery and video for social media that reflects the energy and tone of the store.
> Drive content creation, working closely with our agency and internal team to shape weekly ad content and campaigns.
> Write and edit copy across multiple channels - maintaining The Lair’s editorial voice: grounded, sharp and subversive.
> Support digital customer service and assist with e-commerce workflows, including order dispatch and online product updates.
3. MERCHANDISING & STORE CURATION
> Lead visual refreshes and merchandising within the brick and mortar retail weekly, led by creativity and novelty.
> Assist with product curation and seasonal buys.
